This adorable piece is made entirely of wool by Kerry O'Gorman at Birds Edge Studio. The fibres are worked with a very sharp, barbed needle which locks the scales of the unspun roving together, thus making it possible to 'sculpt' into a form. The body has a wire armature and the feet are wool covered wire as well. The only adhesive used is to secure it to the base which says, "Hope is the thing with feathers that perches on the soul - and sings the tune without the words and never stops - at all. - Emily Dickinson.

Ted was born and raised in North Vancouver and now resides on Gabriola Island, BC, Canada, with his wife Coralie. Ted has always been interested in nature, but it wasn't until his early 30s he bought his first field guide and developed a keen interest in birds. Ted's involvement in photography also began in his 30s. With the merging of the two, wild bird photography became his window to nature and his passion in life. Ted's original and unique photographs have appeared on many front covers and in several popular bird magazines and calendars. He has also won local and international bird photography contests.
